Our autumn digging season has just started! During the summer we’re only able to dig evergreen and topiary trees. But autumn and spring we can dig shade trees as well.

Contact us today with any questions or if you would like to place an order. Autumn digging lasts until the ground freezes here (usually sometime early to mid-November).
If you have a small order we may have a truck already coming your way so the shipping costs could be combined.
Happy Autumn Everyone!

Summer pruning of a Norway Spruce.
We’ve just finished our summer pruning, a.k.a. our trees annual hair cut.:) This is a few months of hard work for us, but the results are well worth it!
Summer digging is also well under way. During the summer months we only dig evergreen and topiary trees as the shade trees don’t handle the shock of transplanting well. You can contact us and place an order now for summer digging or place an order in advance for our autumn digging at which time shade trees will again be available.
Wishing You A Happy Summer!

This is our first year that we will be opening up our gift shop for Christmas in July! The place looks beautiful after we put a few days into re-organizing things.
We have cold apple cider and cookies in there and several new things that we’ve been collecting since last Christmas. And surprise, surprise we have trees available for sale! Not Christmas trees, but some potted fruit and pine trees. We’ve also got some B&B (ball and burlap) trees on display and are taking orders for autumn digging.
Our hours are 9-6 and our last day is Sunday! So come on out and this time enjoy the sun and heat while you get to plan in advance for Christmas!
Check out our Christmas Trees page for more information and directions to the farm!

Earth Day 2009
The timing couldn’t be more perfect. The last couple of days have been spent getting one of our fields prepared for planting the load of trees we received last week. That has meant relocating lonely trees from one field to another and tilling up the soil. Now it’s all ready and we had a beautiful day for getting our hands in the dirt and planting the truck load of shade trees we got!
Our crew (with a little help from Forest and my daughter Aurora) planted 160 White Birch trees and 50 Ginnala Maple trees! I’d say that makes for a pretty happy Earth Day Celebration! We also had a beautiful day weather wise for planting. It was warm and breezy but not to hot. That’s good for the young trees as well as for our employees.:)
We hope your Earth Day is as warm and wonderful as ours!

Forest and Michael On The Tractor
After the long cold Minnesota winters, it sure is good to have Spring here! That’s not to say it wont snow again, but most of it’s snow gone for now, and even if it does get cold again, it shouldn’t be -10ºF, for a high. That is something to get excited about folks!
Yep, the birds are singing and it’s warming up so the ground is thawing out fast. We should start digging nursery stock trees next week (so get your orders in now!). Yesterday Forest and Lowell got some evergreen cuttings and we will be rooting them soon. And today they are getting fertilizer on some of the young trees we planted last spring. And speaking of planting, last night we received our delivery of little shade trees. They are in the barn on snow, so they don’t start to grow before we can get them in the ground. I think Forest said they were Ginnala Maple and White Birch. Ohhh, prettyness!!
That’s the news strait from the nursery front! Happy Spring!
